“…Fear not; for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord…
And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host, praising God, and saying,
Glory to God in the highest,
and on earth peace, good will toward men.” Luke 2:10-14 AKJV.
Said a little differently:
“…In the highest heaven, glory to God!
And on earth, peace among people of good will!” Luke 2:14 CJB.
The advent of our Savior was and is God’s way to restore things to their right order; He be known and glorified, men will have good will towards one another and there will be peace…between God and man…between man and man.
Wouldn’t that be nice, a world where men knew and glorified God and whose nature was one of good will and peacefulness towards one another.
We can do this, right? This one has the answer. That one has the answer. Who should we go with?
When in the history of man have we ever achieved a pervading and lasting condition of peace and good will? Societies rise and fall one after another. No plan works for long. Man’s high mindedness always ends up in decline and its tragedies. Must be…just gotta be something wrong with us.
I’ve come to accept that in and of myself, I can’t come to solutions for issues that will be right and good, in both practicality and in spirit. Practicality is not always good. And good can be and is often defiled by the spirit… not seen maybe… but in us, that is grudging or resentful or angry, anything but one of good will. It’s just not my nature and I am not able in that nature, the nature that was that is, to do things right and good to the glory of God. Nor is anyone else, any organization or group of people or any party able to do so either. No matter it be me or you or an organization or political party, all is based on the mind and works of men and they are all flawed. One ends up just settling. Nothing is ever going to be completely right, solve every problem, be just in every way, result in peace.
“No thing” will ever do these things, but “Some One” will.
Our Savior was born to us and brought in Himself the Way for us to achieve peace on earth and good will towards men, for that to actually be our nature.
Die and be reborn a new person with a new identity, a new nature, a second chance.
Put our trust in Him and the One Who sent Him. Learn and follow His Ways which are not flawed. Fall in love with Him and be faithful to Him.
Following Him, being in union with Him, will bring the economic, the political, the racial and ethnic, the relationships of people one with another into unity and harmony and not lead us to the divisiveness and anger, destructiveness and hatred we are seeing being allowed and are being told they are justified and necessary to make things right. What a lie that is regardless of the reality that those ways are the ways men have always chosen.
We will get things right when we trust and obey in Yahweh’s Ways in spite of men’s ways, from the ground up, each one of us individually.
Abba Father, Yahweh, Jehovah God, Lord of all creation, will be glorified in heaven and on earth and there will be peace and good will, God towards us, in men and towards men.
Father…it is our prayer that all Your living beings would surrender to You and be born anew with a new nature, one that is in Your image… and that we would all cling tightly to You… to grow ever more like You… and not be drawn into the ways of men that could and would surely separate us from You.
May we be granted the revelation and experience of Your love for us and may it give birth in us to love for You…and for one another.
We pray for knowledge and understanding of… and faithfulness to… Your Ways Father, as to what is right and good for the living of every aspect of our daily lives… please Father.
We pray for the heart to and the wisdom of how to, be people glorifying You and living in peace and good will with one another.
Thank You for Jesus, Messiah Yeshua.
Your Ways are Good…and You are Good…and we love You so.
In Yeshua’s name we pray,
May God’s love be in us all.
