A more opportune time Lord…we’ll pause and wait for the more opportune time.
We’ll know that time when it comes, it will feel right, we’ll be in the mood, all the pieces will come together, it will not be awkward, clouded with uncertainty, it’ll be easy and short. Just be patient, trust and wait.
But Father we use it as… it can become… a deception we use as a tool for putting off…indefinitely… what has been put off long enough, that problem that needs attention, that just isn’t going to go away and even if it would… should we let it.
It is a way to gain immediate relief without guilt by promising that, when the time is right, it will get addressed.
Father…we take so much for granted. We count on tomorrows that there is no guarantee of, that the problem will not worsen and that it will be just as easily resolved a year from now as it could be right now.
How powerful is the fearfulness that convinces the mind to prefer a troublesome or unhappy condition over the effort it will take to confront it and to continue in that confrontation until something changes.
What lack of trust. What needless destructiveness, even loss of peace, of the joy You intend for Your children in the work of everyday life, in the relationships we have with one another.
Take hold Father, place Your arm around us and hold us tight. Remind us that our days are numbered and we know them not… so that we will make the most of each moment, applying our hearts to gaining Your wisdom and applying that wisdom to every single event of our life, every day.
May we give each moment, every opportunity to do what is right and good, significance and regard and we ask You for the self control to be able to put fears aside and grant us courage to…no more…back down…put off…for a more opportune time.
We need You Father…in every way.
Please be near.
In the dark of the valley…be our light.
In Yeshua’s name we pray.
“So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.” Psalms 90:12 AKJV
“Yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for Thou art with me; Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort me… Psalm 23:4 AKJV
