There Is A Scripture 03-08-19

“Count your blessings, name them one by one.

Count your blessings see what God has done!

Count your blessings, name them one by one.

Count your many blessings, see what God has done.”

I was thinking, trying to remember the words to this song and asked my wife. True to form she sang it to me.

It’s easy to point out to someone how they have been blessed when they share with you some good thing that has happened. However pointing out how they are blessed when and even though, they are in a hard place, isn’t always well received. Blessing is an experience of “it being well” and in that hard place all is not well.

That’s why, I believe, Yahweh wants us to pray for one another. One of the things it accomplishes, praying for one another, is it is a way of blessing someone and of that someone experiencing the comfort and encouragement of being blessed.

Prayer for one another is a means by which people come together in unity for good. It is a battle waged together to preserve faithfulness, peace, joy, assurance, regardless of how things are.

We bow and clasp our hands before us, the fingers of the left hand laced through the fingers of the right, thumbs crossed, a single limb. The one hand has blessing   the other has troubles. They clasp each other and the blessing shares with the trouble, the trouble shares with the blessing, all submissive and humbly before the One who went to the tree.

“…Bear one another’s burdens-in this way you will be fulfilling the Torah’s true meaning, which the Messiah upholds…” Galatians 6:2 CJB.

Father, form our hearts so that we have true loving kindness towards our brothers and sisters, towards our fellow man.

May the character of that heart move us to readily pray for one another with sincere caring.

May the Spirit of that caring, loving kindness be felt by those for whom we pray and may they see and we as well, we are indeed blessed and may that understanding sooth our spirits with comfort and renewed strength and steady joy that cannot be taken away.

Thank You Father.

You are… so Good.

In Yeshua’s name we pray,

Amen.

May God’s love be in us all.
